Jennifer Trueman
Jennifer Trueman, (composer, the Flowering Tree) is a native of Long Island and has been teaching and playing piano and recorder in Oak Park for 25 years. She has degrees in music and theory/composition from Carleton College and the University of Minnesota. Jennifer studied piano performance at the Conservatoire Darius Milhaud in Aix-en-Provence, France. She has received two Meet-the-Composer grants.
Jennifer teaches music at The Children’s School and works locally as an accompanist and choral director. She recently released a CD of original songs with her vocal trio Mother May I. Other interests include early music, folk music, guitar, song-writing, and chamber music. She lives in Oak Park with her husband and pets and has two college-aged children.
